I'm not sure exactly where to start, so we'll start with the laptop in the picture (a Gateway Solo 9550). I spent a pretty considerable amount of time earlier this year making use of four unique obsolete* laptops. I will probably talk about them more later... I was surprised to see this one in working order in storage. It was the first machine I ever used to make a crappy website. I would've used Weebly and it would've been like 2009. I found the files. Pretty weird.
Since this picture was taken the LCD monitor lid has collapsed from the inside out (seemingly spontaneously. I was being so careful), and now lacks a backlight completely. I'll fix it later maybe. It can connect to my monitor with a cable, though, and still works like a dream once it gets going. I haven't returned to work in the MX suite since that, but holy Christ it's wonderful. I have had so much fun. You can see what I've got so far
here, and it isn't much, but maybe it inspires some feeling, I don't know.
I imagine it as a mystery game, but I'm not really sure how it's supposed to play out, or how to implement things like user session memory, especially here. I'm pretty sure I stalled out on this because Neocities (understandably) doesn't like it when you try to do too much of that. I don't know where to start, so all I've really done yet is make visuals, which I appreciate as an evolution of What I'm Doing On Here, at least. I think I'll continue using the tools I'm experimenting with to make more things for this site and others, and maybe eventually my skill level will catch up to my imagination and I'll make something cool.
...So, um. Stay tuned, I guess.
